Squad changes

GT Squad Changes

GT had a strong team in the last season but they let go some of the players after the 2022 season.

In the last IPL auction, GT roped in overseas players Joshua Little, Kane Williamson and Odean Smith. Williamson was leading SRH till the last season but was released by them due to average performance.

The Titans spent the most to rope in Indian bowler Shivam Mavi. He will strengthen the bowling side along with Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Shami and Alzarri Joseph.

Kane Williamson has been added to the already strong GT batting line-up.

GT team key players

  • Hardik Pandya:Hardik Pandya made a strong comeback last season after injury. He picked 8 wickets and smashed 487 runs in the last season. He is certainly a key player for the team.

  • David Miller: Miller was among the top scorers of the team last season with 481 runs in 16 matches. He had an aggressive average of 68.71 and strike rate of 142.72. Miller smashed 23 sixes.

  • Shubman Gill:Shubman Gill was the 2nd highest run scorer last year. He scored 483 runs at an average of 34.50. Gill has been in brilliant form lately in international white-ball cricket and we are expecting a better performance than last season from him.

  • Rashid Khan: Rashid Khan impresses everyone with his bowling skills in every league he plays. He has been part of almost all the top T20 leagues around the world. In 92 IPL matches, Rashid Khan has picked 112 wickets at an average of 20.83.

  • Mohammed Shami: Mohammad Shami opened last season for the GT with a bang. He picked up KL Rahul’s wicket on the first delivery of the first match of Gujarat Titans and ended up as the Player of the Match. Shami is currently 1 wicket away from reaching the 100-wicket mark in the IPL.

Expert Prediction

Expert Prediction for GT

Gujarat Titans proved last season that they are not to be messed with. With new additions to the squad, they are certainly stronger now. If they go with the same momentum like last season then they can certainly go to the playoffs this year as well.

Can GT Win IPL 2023?

We are backing Gujarat Titans to enter the playoffs in the IPL 2023. They can also lift another IPL trophy if they maintain a winning momentum in the playoffs but we are not certain of their title win this year.

Gujarat Titans are the favourites to lift the IPL 2023 trophy. Both Betway and Bet365 are offering 6.50 for Gujarat Titans.
