About Punjab Kings Team(PBKS)
Punjab Kings is part of the league from its beginning in 2008 and it is among the teams who are yet to lift an IPL trophy. Over the years, they have experimented with various tactics and hence, became the team with the most captains so far.
PBKS is currently led by Shikhar Dhawan. PBKS Team Information
Punjab Kings will be led by Shikhar Dhawan who was appointed as the skipper before the 2023 edition. The team managed to win just 6 out 14 games in the league stage and finished at the 8th position on the table.
After the last season’s outing, PBKS released five players including middle-order batters Shahrukh Khan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa.
Along with some young talent from the domestic circuit, they picked Chris Woakes, Harshal Patel and Rilee Rossouw in the IPL auction in December 2023.

Expert Prediction for PBKS
PBKS has roped in Chris Woakes to strengthen their all-rounders line up but that was not their weak point. They have one of the top squads when it comes to quality and have some of the best all-rounders like Sam Curran, Sikandar Raza, Liam Livingstone. Their weakness lies in their captain’s approach and lack of passion for winning the games.
Shikhar Dhawan does not have a good record as captain in the IPL career and even as the skipper of the Indian team. He is someone who likes to play freely and does not bother himself with the result of the game. In our opinion, such an approach is good for the players who want to focus on their skills but not for a captain.
PBKS needs a more passionate and serious captain to lead this squad of brilliant cricketers and some of the top T20 players.
Can PBKS Win IPL 2024?
PBKS surely have the top t20 players but they lack in approach and maintaining the momentum after winning a match. This along with the lack of passion for winning from the captain’s mindset are obstacles for the Punjab based franchise.
