Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans will face each other in the 7th Match of the IPL 2023, on 4th April. The match is scheduled to be held at Arun Jaitley Stadium which was earlier known as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. It is the home ground of the Delhi team and they will play a home game here after three years.

Delhi Capitals under the captaincy of David Warner, have lost their season opener against Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans won the first match against Chennai Super Kings.

Let’s take a look at the predicted playing 11 for this match.

Delhi Capitals

  • Top Order: Skipper David Warner smashed a half-century in the first match and he looks in confident form now but lacked support from Prithvi Shaw and fellow Aussie batter Mitchell Marsh. Both the batters have an abundance of potential and they will be backed for this match as well.
  • Middle Order: Rilee Rossouw and Axar Patel were the only positives from the DC’s middle-order in the last match. Sarfaraz Khan is filling in for Rishabh Pant and he will backed again along with Rovman Powell and Aman Hakim Khan. Resting any of these on the basis of just one match won’t be feasible for the Delhi team.
  • Lower Order: South African pacer Anrich Nortje is expected to join the playing 11 for this match and there will be a tough call for DC to make either Mukesh Kumar or Chetan Sakariya sit for this match. They might replace Mukesh Kumar as he finished the spell without any wicket and Sakariya picked 2 but gave off 53 runs.

Prithvi Shaw, David Warner (c), Mitchell Marsh, Sarfaraz Khan (wk), Rilee Rossouw, Aman Hakim Khan, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed

Gujarat Titans

  • Top Order: Leaving captain Hardik Pandya aside, all the batters in GT side played with a strike rate of 100+. So, they have a good quality in their batting line-up with an in-form top order of Saha, Gill and Sudharsan but we are expecting David Miller to be back to the side and Sudharsan might have to sit for this one.
  • Middle Order: David Miller will be back to the side once again after a brilliant outing in the last season. Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan were in good form and they can stable GT’s middle order if they keep scoring these useful runs and finish more matches.
  • Lower Order: Mohammed Shami and Alzarri Joseph are capable of hitting some handy shots. Shami has a half century to his name in the red-ball cricket where we saw him hitting sixes. Keeping that aside, GT has a strong bowling unit which keeps their lower order safe from batting.
