The biggest rivals - Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will face-off in the 12th Match of the IPL 2023. The match is scheduled to take place at the famous Wankhede Stadium where these two teams have clashed the most number of times. The match will kick-off on 8th April.

MI will be playing its 2nd match after a loss in the first one against RCB while CSK is coming to this match after a home win against LSG.

Let’s take a look at the predicted playing 11 for both sides.

Mumbai Indians

  • Top Order: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav make up the top-order of Mumbai Indians. Cameron Green was given the opportunity to bat at the number 3 spot but we are expecting Suryakumar to take the spot back. The same top order will be backed for the upcoming game but they need to level up.
  • Middle Order: The young middle-order of MI looks promising but they need to perform consistently to cement their place in the playing 11. Tilak Varma has all the praises for this brilliant knock of 84 while Nehal Wadhera also looked confident. Tim David is a good hitter in the middle-order but he needs to find his confidence to get into the rhythm.
  • Lower Order: MI is currently struggling with the lower order. Jofra Archer couldn’t perform up to the mark in the first match. Bumrah’s void can certainly be felt in the bowling line-up but Mumbai might go with the same bowling attack once again.

Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Cameron Green, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Nehal Wadhera, Hrithik Shokeen, Piyush Chawla, Jofra Archer, Arshad Khan

Chennai Super Kings

  • Top Order: Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a 110-run partnership in the last match. Gaikwad is currently the leading run scorer of the season. Shivam Dube went out to bat at number 3 and he smashed 3 sixes in the last match. CSK will go with the same top-order once again.
  • Middle Order: Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Rayudu, Dhoni and Jadeja sounds like an unbeatable middle-order. CSK would not want to make changes to this fine middle-order and expect them to bat up to the mark.
  • Lower Order: Dhoni was unhappy about the bowling unit in the last match as 13 wide balls were bowled. He gave off a warning for them to correct the mistakes but he will back the same bowling unit again.
