IPL 2023 is set to kick-off on 31st March, 2023 with the 1st match between the current champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. The stage is set for the season opener match at the Gujarat Titans’ home ground - Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
It was Thursday at Ahmedabad and the weather disappointed the fans and the players as we witnessed heavy rainfall on the eve of the 1st match. The rain poured so heavily that the practice sessions were called off.
The rain in Ahmedabad also dipped the temperature by 5-6°C. Going by the weather forecast sources, the weather for Friday, which is the match day, looks nothing like Thursday’s weather.
The weather for Friday morning will have a temperature around 33°C which is expected around 26-27°C towards the night. In the evening, the wind speed is predicted to be around 16 km/h which will dip to around 6-7 km/h at night.
Fortunately, the fans do not have to worry about any total wash-out for the much-anticipated match as the weather forecast does not predict rainfall for the match day. The precipitation is showing 0% for Friday weather. So, we are certain to have the first game of the IPL 2023 with full overs and clear weather.
The Narendra Modi Stadium pitch will offer a good bounce and batters are going to have a good time. We saw a high-scoring drawn Test match between India and Australia on this pitch recently.
The captain winning the toss will opt to bowl first as the team bowling first has 80% chance of winning the match on this ground. The average innings score is around 188.
