Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants will face-off against each other in the 6th Match of the IPL 2023. The match is scheduled to take place on 3rd April at MA Chidambaram Stadium which is the home ground of the Chennai team.
LSG started off the season on a winning note against Delhi Capitals while CSK lost the first match to Gujarat Titans.
Let’s take a look at predicted playing 11 for this match.
Gaikwad was terrific in the first match and he looked confident but Conway and Moeen Ali need to get in form to strengthen the top-order of CSK.
In the first match, CSK’s middle order was not up to the mark and it all crumbled by the hands of GT’s strong bowling unit. They have the quality of Ben Stokes, Jadeja, Rayudu and Shivam Dube in the middle order but none of them was able to score more than 19 runs.
CSK is trying some new young bowlers and it also decreases the depth in the batting. Deepak Chahar is capable of hitting some shots but we cannot expect any other lower order players to score runs.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, Dwaine Pretorius, MS Dhoni (C) (WK), Deepak Chahar, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Akash Singh
Rahul did not perform well in the first match but LSG got a new top-order batter in Kyle Mayers. He played brilliantly and smashed 73 off just 38 balls. The team might need to rethink the batting order once Quinton de Kock joins the camp.
Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis crumbled in the first match but scored some useful runs. The new recruit in the side, Nicholas Pooran handled the middle-order alongside Ayush Badoni who smashed 2 huge sixes.
Mark Wood can hit some shots at the lower order and we saw Krishnappa Gowtham smashing a six on the last ball after coming in as an Impact Player.
KL Rahul (C), Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Mark Wood, Ayush Badoni, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Krishnappa Gowtham, Mayank Yadav
