Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings will face each other in Match 8 of the IPL 2023. The match is scheduled to take place at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on 5th April. The venue is making its debut in the IPL this year and will serve as RR’s home ground for the first two matches.
Both the teams are coming from a win in their season openers. Sanju Samson will lead the RR team while Shikhar Dhawan will captain the Kings side.

- Top Order - Won’t be wrong to say that this was the best top order performance so far as all the top 3 batsmen smashed half centuries. They would not want to change the current momentum for any batter there.
- Middle Order - The middle-order looks a little weak for the RR side. In the first match, only Hetmyer could score some useful runs and Padikkal and Parag were out for single digit scores. The team will back them up once again but the team should look to replace Parag in the playing 11. Jason Holder can also be a handy batsman for RR.
- Lower Order - The lower order will be unchanged for the next match as the overall bowling performance was very tight by the RR unit. Chahal picked 4 wickets while Boult took 2 wickets.

- Top Order - Prabhsimran Singh looked pretty confident at the top spot along with Shikhar Dhawan. He 23 runs at a strike rate of 191.76 and then Rajapaksa arrived with a bang at the 3rd position. He scored a half century which shows the confident form of this top-order.
- Middle Order - The middle-order of PBKS performed decently in the first match. Jitesh Sharma, Sikandar Raza and Sam Curran scored crucial runs at a required strike rate.
- Lower Order - Arshdeep led from the front with a spectacular 3/19 and emerged as the Player of the Match. Nathan Ellis also picked a wicket but he might have to sit in the next match to make place for Kagiso Rabada. Chahar and Raza also picked wickets and they will be backed again.
