England top order batter Jason Roy has been fined £2,500 and handed a two-match ban by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The reason for the suspension is not revealed by the board.

On imposing the sanctions on Roy, the Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) said, “ (Roy) admitted a charge of conducting himself in a manner which may be prejudicial to the interests of cricket or which may bring the game of cricket, the ECB and himself into disrepute.”

Jason Roy has recently pulled out of the IPL 2022 citing bubble fatigue reasons. Roy expressed that he wants to spend time with his family. The debutant franchise Gujarat Titans bought Jason Roy at a price tag of INR 2 crore at the IPL mega auction in February.

Roy had a great season at the recently held PSL 2022 where he batted for Quetta Gladiators and smashed 303 runs in 6 matches only.

Jason Roy last played for England in the 5-match T20I series against West Indies which the latter won by 3-2.

According to the CDC regulations, the reasons for the sanctions should be revealed in all the cases unless the probing panel determines that it is appropriate that the reason for sanctions should be publicised in parts or not publicised at all.

Jason Roy is supposed to pay the £2,500 fine by March 31st.
