T20 Blast 2022: Samit Patel reaches 300 wickets in T20 Cricket

Nottinghamshire’s spinner all-rounder Samit Patel has reached the milestone of 300 wickets in T20 cricket format in the last match against Leicestershire in T20 Blast. He finished with figures of 2/29 in the match and picked Arron Lilley as his 300th target.

Samit Patel is a 37-year-old all-rounder born in Leicester, England. Along with the T20 Blast, he has been part of the various shorter format leagues recently which includes Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Lanka Premier League (LPL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Pakistan Super League (PSL) and The Hundred.

He has been associated with the Notts T20 team since 2003 and has been with them for 19 years. He has played 216 matches in T20 Blast and is currently 9 wickets away from becoming the first player to reach 200 wickets in the league’s history. Patel is the second highest wicket taker in T20 Blast after Danny Biggs who is at 199 wickets.

As far as his batting is concerned, in 216 T20 Blast matches, Patel has smashed 4072 runs at an average of 27.96.

Samit Patel has played 361 T20 matches so far in his career, in which he has scored 6123 runs and picked 300 wickets.
