Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad will battle it out in the 28th Match of the IPL 2022 on 17th April at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.
PBKS are currently at 4th spot on the table with 3 wins in 5 matches while SRH are struggling at the bottom half of the table but they have picked themselves up from the poor start to the season.
SRH has an upper edge over PBKS when it comes to head to head contests but with the unavailability of Washington Sundar and a strong PBKS side, this contest can fall into any team’s lap.
After some poor 1-digit scores in the 3 matches, Mayank Agarwal regained his form scoring 52 runs off 32 deliveries against Mumbai Indians. His opening partner Shikhar Dhawan is in good form, batting at an average of 39.40 in 5 matches.
Jonny Bairstow hasn’t delivered up to his potential yet but the team will give him more chances.
Livingstone couldn’t perform against MI but he is in great touch, scoring 164 runs and picking 2 wickets so far. His spot is cemented in PBKS playing 11 now.
Shahrukh Khan and Jitesh Sharma are providing a decent middle-order to the team but they can perform better.
Contrary to everyone’s speculation, PBKS stuck to Odean Smith. The West Indies all-rounder buried the last over horrors against GT by making his team win in the last over against MI. He picked 4 wickets in that match, out of which 3 wickets came in the last over of the MI innings.
PBKS’s bowling unit is also performing well with Rahul Chahar and Kagiso Rabada leading the charge with 7 and 6 wickets, respectively. Vaibhav Arora, who is playing his first IPL season, has picked 3 wickets in 3 matches.

Abhishek Sharma’s form is a great positive for SRH top order. He along with skipper Kane Williamson provide a good start to the innings.
Rahul Tripathi and Nicholas Pooran are also in decent form and Aiden Markram currently has an average of 81.00 in 3 innings and he has also picked a wicket against CSK.
The bowling unit in SRH has to level up their game in front of PBKS’ fierce batting line-up. Marco Jansen and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have to support T Natarajan’s fine form. Natarajan has picked 8 wickets so far. Jansen has played 2 matches and picked 2 wickets, so he will be in the playing 11.
