Mumbai Indians have had a horrid tournament so far. Their chances of qualifying for the playoffs are negligible now after losing their first six games. One more loss and they will be officially out of the tournament. Meanwhile, Chennai have also struggled in the tournament, losing five out of their six games. The coming game is a must-win match for both teams.
The problem with Mumbai is that they don't have enough resources available. Their bowling is too weak and all the workload is on Bumrah. Mumbai may give Riley Meredith a chance in place of Tymal Mills.
Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan will open the innings, followed by Dewald Brevis. Rohit needs to start performing as he is one of the key batters of the team. Kishan has also not looked in his elements in the last few games. Brevis has played well but he needs to convert the starts into big innings.
Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma will take charge in middle overs. Surya has played exceptionally well, with little to no support from other batters. Tilak Varma has also been impressive.
Kieron Pollard and Fabian Allen will be the all-rounders. Pollard has blown hot and cold and Mumbai will need him to be a bit more consistent. Allen can also contribute to the team's cause with both bat and ball.
Bowling is a big concern for Mumbai and a lot depends on how Bumrah performs. The team may also bring in Riley Meredith in place of Tymal Mills. Mayank Markande can also get a game in place of Murugan Ashwin.

Chennai were in a comfortable position to win their last game against Gujarat before David Miller took the game away from them. The team should stick to the same combination.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa will open the innings. Chennai will be pleased to see Gaikwad score runs in the last game, while Uthappa has also looked good in the last few games which is a positive sign. They will be followed by Moeen Ali, who is yet to fire but is a key batter.
Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni will be the middle order batters. Rayudu played a good hand in the last game, while Dube has been in terrific form with the bat. The expectations from Dhoni with the bat are low but one cannot count him out completely.
Along with Dube and Ali, Chennai have the likes of Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja as their all-round options. The team will expect good performance from these players.
Chennai's bowling is weak in the absence of Deepak Chahar. Chris Jordan was taken apart by David Miller in the last game thus Dwayne Pretorious may get a game. Maheesh Theekshana will be a key player in the middle overs while Mukesh Choudhary will have to bring out his A-game as well.
