Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed that Bangladesh T20I captain Mahmudullah announced his retirement from Test cricket on 24th November, 2021.

Mahmudullah made a comeback to Test cricket this year against Zimbabwe. Under Mahmudullah’s captaincy, Bangladesh T20I team has seen great achievements including beating Australia and New Zealand for the first time in a T20 series at home pitches.

Mahmudullah made his Test debut in 2009.

Mahmudullah is an amazing all-rounder for the Bangladesh team. In the 50 Test matches, Mahmudullah scored almost 3000 runs and took 43 wickets. He has the highest score of 150* and the best bowling figures of 5/51. His 150* came in Bangladesh’s 220-run victory over Zimbabwe.
