Kolkata Knight Riders have blown hot and cold in the tournament. They have played seven games and won just three so far. With the tournament reaching a halfway mark, KKR needs to pocket some wins to keep their hopes alive thus, this is game is very crucial for the team.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans have been exceptional in the tournament. They have played six games and won five of them. The bowling from Gujarat has been spot on and helped the team win most of their matches.
KKR lost a close game against RR in their last game. However, they did pretty well thus they are likely to stick with same combination.
Aaron Finch and Venkatesh Iyer are likely to open, followed by Shreyas Iyer. Finch came back to form and scored 50 in the last game. V. Iyer has also played a few handy knocks, but he has been inconsistent. Shreyas Iyer's brilliant 85 in the last game will be a big sigh of relief for KKR.
Nitish Rana, Sheldon Jackson will be the players who wil be resposible for scoring in middle overs. Rana has played a few good knocks, but Sheldon Jackson has been dissapointing.
Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Pat Cummins will be the all-rounders. Russell has not lived up to the expectations yet while Cummins has been expensive with the ball. Narine has bowled well though.
Shivam Mavi, Umesh Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy will be the bowlers. KKR needs wickets from Chakravarthy, who has looked off colour so far. Umesh has been brilliant while Mavi had a good game against RR.

Hardik Pandya didn't play the last game, but he should be back in the XI against KKR. He may come in place of Vikay Shankar
Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill will open the innings. Gill has been brilliant for Gujarat despite his first ball duck in last game. Saha will have to cash on this opportunity as he might not get many games if he doesn't perform. The openers will be followed by Abhinav Manohar. Manohar has not played a real big knock, but he has impressed one and all.
David Miller and Hardik Pandya form a destructive middle order. Miller scored match winning 94 in last game, while Pandya has been brilliant with bat and ball.
Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan will be all-rounders. Khan is one of the best bowlers in T20s, we all know, but it was his batting that won Gujarat the match against CSK. He scored 40 off 21 balls in the last game.
GT has one of the best bowing lineup with the likes of Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami, Yash Dayal alongside Rashid, Tewatia and Hardik.
