India’s favourite and homegrown T20 cricket league, IPL is set to kick-off its 16th season on 31st March, 2023. Ten franchise teams will feature once again and Gujarat Titans will be defending the title this season.
IPL 2023 made highlights last year when it became the 2nd most valuable sports league in the world by selling the media rights at a whopping INR 48,390 crore. Star Sports Network retained the domestic broadcast rights while Viacom18 bagged the digital rights for the seasons 2023-2027.
In India, Viacom18 will live stream all the 74 matches of IPL 2023 on the JioCinema app. It is the same platform which did the live streaming of Fifa World Cup 2022.
JioCinema has recently confirmed that the users will be able to live stream the IPL 2023 for free on the app, unlike the previous IPL digital platform Hotstar+Disney which used to have paid subscription to watch the IPL matches.
