Since the IPL mega auction has been over, all the fans are waiting eagerly for the IPL schedule to be released. In a latest development reported by Cricbuzz, it can be learnt that IPL 2022 will have a total of 70 matches out of which 55 matches are scheduled for 4 venues in Mumbai and 15 matches to take place in a venue at Pune.

The three Mumbai venues to be selected for the IPL 2022 are - Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium while Pune will host the matches at MCA International Stadium.

The venues are selected keeping in mind that the teams do not need to travel long distances this year.

The 15th edition of IPL will feature 10 teams with the inclusion of 2 new franchises - Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, to be led by KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, respectively.

It has been speculated that IPL 2022 will commence in the last week of March and the final to take place on 29th May. Official announcement regarding the fixtures is awaited from the board.

The IPL mega auction has witnessed large scale changes to the teams as many key players were released by the teams and all the teams will don a new team look in the upcoming IPL season.
