India Is Set To Host Women's World Cup 2025

After the conclusion of the global cricket body’s annual conference, India has won the bid to host the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2025. Among the other bids, Bangladesh will host the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2024 and England in 2026. Sri Lanka will play hosts to the inaugural Women’s T20 Champions Trophy in 2027, if they qualify.

The venues for the ICC mega events are finalized by ICC’s working group which consists of New Zealand Cricket chairman Martin Snedden, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Cricket West Indies president Ricky Skerritt and England Cricket Board acting CEO and former England Women captain Clare Connor.

This will be the fifth time India will host the prestigious ICC mega event. The last time India hosted any global ICC women’s event was in 2016 when the Women’s World Cup ran along with the Men’s T20 World Cup in India. The format of the 2025 Women’s World Cup will be similar to this year’s Women’s World Cup.

Bangladesh will witness its 2nd biggest hosting in the last 10 years after they hosted the Men's T20 World Cup in 2014. ICC has also decided to increase the number of participant teams to 12 in the T20 World Cup from the 2026 edition which will take place in England.
