Ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League 2022, Ahmedabad based Gujarat Titans have unveiled their logo in the metaverse, which is a virtually created universe. Gujarat Titans have become the first Indian sports team to do so.

The team has created a virtual dugout where they created avatars of Hardik Pandya, Ashish Nehra and Shubman Gill who revealed the logo.

This is the first time Hardik Pandya will be leading a team in the IPL. The all-rounder has been an important asset for the Mumbai Indians for the last few years and he has contributed a lot in the Mumbai Indians’ achievement as the most successful IPL team with 5 title wins.

The team is owned by CVC Capital Partners, who bought the team for INR 5625 crore during the bid.

Gujarat Titans bought three players during the draft pick. Their first pick was the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya who was appointed as the captain of the team. Hardik Pandya was bought for INR 15 crore along with Rashid Khan for the same price and Shubman Gill for INR 8 crore.

Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are the two new franchises to enter the league from this season. A total of 10 teams will now participate in the IPL, which is happening for the first time after the 2011 edition.

IPL 2022 is speculated to commence in the last week of March and go on till the end of May. The official schedule will be released soon.

During the IPL mega auction, Gujarat Titans have grabbed some serious white-ball hitters like Jason Roy, David Miller, Matthew Wade along with one of the current fastest bowlers, Lockie Ferguson.
