Chennai Super Kings and Team India’s pacer, Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of action for at least four months. The problems have risen for the 29-year-old bowler as he might miss the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022, which is scheduled for October-November this year in Australia.

He received a quadricep tear in the T20I series. While on his way to the recovery at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, Chahar suffered a back injury.

CSK spent a whopping INR 14 crore to fetch him again as he is one of their important assets. Deepak Chahar is well-known for his wicket taking abilities during the power-play overs. He doesn’t bowl too fast but swings the ball pretty well with the new ball and that does the trick for him.

Chahar has been a key figure in many of the CSK’s wins, which is why the team didn’t feel any hesitation to lose their pockets for him.

CSK, who have won only 1 out of 5 matches so far, were in dire need of the pacer and were expecting his return soon.

Along with his fine bowling skills, Chahar is also capable of hitting runs as well. He has scored two ODI half-centuries and currently has a batting average of 59.66.

Indian team selectors will hope for his early recovery as he will be pretty useful in the T20 World Cup on Australian pitches where pacer all-rounders are quite a game changers.

Long term injuries tend to take a toll over a player's performance. It might become difficult for him to perform like before but nevertheless, we have also seen players like Hardik Pandya who is now getting back to his old form slowly with both bat and ball.
