India vs South Africa: Mohammed Siraj replaces injured Jasprit Bumrah for the remaining 2 T20Is

After the disappointing news of Jasprit Bumrah’s exclusion from the T20 World Cup 2022 surfaced all over the place, the selectors have named pacer Mohammed Siraj as his replacement for the remaining 2 T20Is against South Africa.

Bumrah played the 2nd and 3rd T20I against Australia but couldn’t perform well. He didn’t travel with the team to Thiruvananthapuram for the 1st T20I against South Africa. Yesterday, A BCCI official informed that Bumrah is going through a back stress fracture and will be out of action for 5-6 months.

While Siraj will replace Bumrah in the remaining T20Is against South Africa, a big question will remain over selectors about which player to choose to replace Bumrah for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. Currently, Mohammad Shami and Deepak Chahar are the top contenders and they will travel with the team to Australia as stand-by players.
