The upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will witness 10 teams taking on each other with the top 4 going to the semi-finals. 10 venues in India will host 48 World Cup matches.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Fixtures Released

The stage is set for ICC’s mega event - the Cricket World Cup 2023 edition which is set to take place in India this year. The fixtures for the tournament have been released by the International Cricket Council and the CWC 2023 opening match will take place on 5th October, 2023 which will witness the repeat of the final of the World Cup 2019 between current champion England and runner-up New Zealand. This contest will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is currently the biggest cricket stadium in the world.

The two semi-finals are scheduled to take place on 15th and 16th November and the Final match will be held on 19th November, 2023. 

ICC Cricket World Cup is going to be hosted by India after 12 years. The last time it was held in India in 2011, the hosts picked their 2nd ever ICC World Cup trophy under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Format

Following the format of the 2019 edition, the tournament will feature 10 teams out of which 8 teams have qualified through the Cricket World Cup Super League points system while the final two spots will be decided after the end of the Cricket World Cup qualifiers on 9th July.

Each team will face the other 9 teams in a round-robin format and the top 4 teams will proceed to semi-finals and finals. 48 matches will take place over a course of 46 days in the months of October-November. The top 4 teams will proceed to the semi-finals and finals.

Cricket World Cup 2023 Venues in India

The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash is scheduled to take place on 15th October, 2023 at Ahmedabad, which will also host another thrilling match between arch-rivals England and Australia.

The semi-finals will be hosted at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and Eden Gardens in Kolkata and Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the Final match of the ICC Cricket World 2023.

A total of 10 venues have been finalized to host the ICC World Cup this year - Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru. The warm-up matches will take place at Hyderabad, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram from 29th September to 3rd October.
