Jamaica Tallawahs finished top of the Men’s 6ixty group stage after winning two of their three matches and enjoying the best net-run-rate of all sides in the competition. They won their opening games against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, by 55 runs, and Barbados Royals, by 41 runs, before losing their final group match to Saint Lucia Kings by eight runs. 25 year old Amir Jangoo finished as the Tallawahs leading run scorer in each of their last two games, he hit 68 not out from 27 balls against Barbados Royals and 44 runs from 20 balls in the defeat to Saint Lucia Kings. With the ball, medium pacer Joshua James took 2-25 against the Kings but the best bowling from the Tallawahs came from Raymon Reifer who took 3-16 against the Royals.
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots won one and lost two matches but still managed to sneak into the next stage in fourth place courtesy of a superior run-rate to Saint Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors. After a heavy defeat against Jamaica Tallawahs to begin the competition, the Patriots picked up their only victory against Saint Lucia Kings. They then concluded the group stage with a very exciting and close game with Trinbago Knight Riders, but ended on 152-4 when chasing 156 to win. West Indies’ international middle order batter Sherfane Rutherford has been in exceptional batting form for the Patriots. He hit 24 not out from five balls against Saint Lucia Kings and 50 from 15 balls against the Knight Riders.
