Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis then stitched a healthy opening partnership of 73 runs before cameos from Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran steered the West Indies to a convincing victory in the end.

India Team News & Playing 11
IND Team News
The Indian team will be arriving at Mumbai with a clean bill of health as none of their players have been reported to be injured. The hosts, however, might want to make one change in their line-up for the third T20 international - Deepak Chahar has returned expensive figures in both the matches and he could make way for the experienced and in-form Mohammed Shami. Shivam Dube cracked a magnificent half-century after being promoted to number three last time and the left-hander will probably bat at three again.
IND Key Players
Virat Kohli: The skipper overtook Rohit Sharma as India's leading T20I run-scorer in the last game. Kohli struck a match-winning 94 not-out at Hyderabad and was looking fluent last time until he was dismissed for 19. He certainly is the one to watch out for in this Indian batting line-up.
Lokesh Rahul: The opener showed impressive form in the opening T20I where his 62 off 40 balls laid the foundation for India's victory. KL Rahul missed out on the opportunity to score big last time and he will be keen to make an impact on a very good Wankhede pitch.
Yuzvendra Chahal: The current Indian bowling depends a lot on Yuzvendra Chahal who is the team's best bowler in T20Is with 52 wickets in 36 matches. The leg-spinner was ineffective at Thiruvananthapuram and was taken for plenty but he is expected to bounce back with a good performance in Mumbai.
IND Recent Form
India now have eight wins and seven losses in the fifteen T20 internationals they have played so far this year. They came into this series having beaten Bangladesh 2-1 in a home series last month. The hosts have been impressive with the bat against the West Indies, chasing down 207 in the opening game and posting 170 last time out. However, they have looked below-par with the ball and their fielding has been a big let down in both the matches.
India Predicted Playing 11
Rohit Sharma, Lokesh Rahul, Shivam Dube, Virat Kohli (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar/Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal
West Indies Team News & Playing 11
WI Team News
West Indies made one change to their side for the second T20 international; they dropped Denesh Ramdin and replaced him by Nicholas Pooran who returned after having served a four-match ban for tampering the ball. Pooran had a good game with the bat, scoring 38 not-out from 18 balls which included a couple of sixes, and he is likely to be retained for the deciding match of the series. The visitors are coming off a morale-boosting win and are expected to field the same eleven on Wednesday.
WI Key Players
Lendl Simmons: After a quiet outing at Hyderabad, Simmons roared loudly at Thiruvananthapuram where his unbeaten knock of 67 from 45 balls paved the way for a Windies win. The opening batsman can hurt India really bad again if he is not sent back early to the pavilion.
Evin Lewis: Lendl's opening partner is looking in threatening form. The left-handed batsman has scored 40 in both the matches and has hit the ball out of the boundary on seven occasions. Lewis is having a strike-rate of 153.12 in T20Is and he will look to give the Windies another positive start with the bat.
Sheldon Cottrell: He is one of the most successful bowlers for the West Indies in this format and he has been the most impressive of the pack in this series. The left-arm fast bowler has taken a wicket in both the matches and his economy rate of 6.37 is the best among all the bowlers from both teams.
WI Recent Form
On Sunday, West Indies secured what was only their second win from the eleven matches they have played this year in the 20-over format of the game. They suffered a 1-2 series loss at the hands of Afghanistan before coming into this series. Their batting, especially the top order, is looking solid at the moment and even their bowlers bowled pretty well in the previous game having restricted the hosts to a chaseable total on a very good batting surface.
West Indies Predicted Playing 11
Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Brandon King, Kieron Pollard (c), Jason Holder, Khary Pierre, Hayden Walsh, Sheldon Cottrell, Kesrick Williams
India vs West Indies Head to Head
India and West Indies have now played 16 matches against each other in the game's twenty-over format with the former still leading the scoreline 9-6. One of their encounters - in 2016 at Lauderhill - ended in a no-result due to rain.
After losing seven T20Is against India on the trot, the Windies denied them their eighth successive with an eight-wicket victory in the previous match of the ongoing series.
The two teams have faced each other just once at the Wankhede in this format - at the 2016 ICC World T20 semi-final. Put into bat first, India posted 192/2 on the board before a brilliant knock from Lendl Simmons powered the Windies to an emphatic seven-wicket win.

🏆 India vs West Indies Prediction
West Indies have looked impressive so far in this series. They were very competitive in the opening T20I before outplaying the home team in all three departments in the last match. They will be a lot more confident after that win and have gained momentum as well. Plus, having beaten India in the 2016 ICC World T20 semi-final at this ground will give them a big psychological advantage. Having said that, India are still a strong unit especially in their own backyard and it won't be fair to write them off after just one slip-up. The hosts were let down by a few dropped catches and misfields last time, and if they can just be extra careful with their fielding on Wednesday, they will give themselves a good chance of securing the series.
