CWI B Team News & Playing 11
CWIB Team News
CWI B Team dropped allrounder Justin Greaves for batsman Alick Athanaze in their previous game against Vancouver Knights. Although Athanaze scored a duck and the team went on to lose that game, he will probably be retained for this upcoming match against Montreal Tigers as the Windies B Team have already booked their place in the playoffs and they can afford to take a few chances.
CWIB Key Players
Justin Greaves has scored the most runs for the West Indies B Team in this GT20 Canada, but since he is unlikely to play on Tuesday, the onus will be on the likes of Sherfane Rutherford, Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran to take the team off to a brisk start. King is averaging 49 while Rutherford has a strike rate of over 145. Pooran hit a 35-ball 58 in the reverse fixture and the team will be expecting something similar from him. Obed McCoy, the left-arm pacer, has been the standout bowler for the B Team with ten wickets. He took three wickets last time against Montreal Tigers and he will once again pose the biggest threat to them. Derval Green had a good outing against Vancouver Knights finishing with figures of 3-33 and he too can do some damage here with the ball.
CWIB Recent Form
The CWI B Team, with eight points, are currently positioned at the top of the leaderboard with four wins and one loss from five league matches. After winning their first four games in a row, they finally tasted defeat in their last game against Vancouver Knights. Chasing the Knights' 175, the West Indies B Team were rolled over for 140 in the 20th over to lose the match by 35 runs.
CWI B Predicted Playing 11
Sherfane Rutherford, Shamar Springer, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, Anthony Bramble (c/wk), Kavem Hodge, Fabian Allen, Derval Green, Alick Athanaze, Khary Pierre, Obed McCoy
Montreal Tigers Team News & Playing 11
MNT Team News
Wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin was brought back in place of Ibrahim Khaleel in the last match against Toronto Nationals and the team is likely to retain him against the CWI B Team. So we expect the Montreal Tigers to go in with an unchanged lineup for this game. Sunil Narine will continue to open the batting alongside Dwayne Smith.
MNT Key Players
Moises Henriques and George Worker smashed a fifty each in the last game against Toronto Nationals. Henriques is amongst the leading run-getters in the tournament and he along with Worker will hold the key to Montreal's batting. The team, however, will also expect strong contributions from their openers Sunil Narine and Dwayne Smith, both of whom are capable of playing the big shots. With the ball, the Tigers will turn to skipper Lasith Malinga and Peter Siddle - the top two bowlers in this year's Global T20 Canada. Both took two wickets each in the earlier encounter against the CWI B Team and are coming off a three-wicket haul in the last game against Toronto Nationals. Sandeep Lamichhane (five wickets in four matches) has also been pretty impressive and he together with Narine will be the go-to men when it comes to spin bowling.
MNT Recent Form
Montreal Tigers are struggling big time in this inaugural edition of the GT20 Canada. They have been able to win just one out of the five matches they have played so far and are currently lying at the bottom in the league standings with a couple of points. Their solitary win came against the Edmonton Royals by 16 runs in the ninth match of the tournament. The Tigers lost their last encounter to Toronto Nationals by one wicket - in a game that went all the way down to the last ball.
Montreal Tigers Predicted Playing 11
Dwayne Smith, Sunil Narine, George Worker, Moises Henriques, Sikandar Raza, Najibullah Zadran, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Kevon Cooper, Sandeep Lamichhane, Peter Siddle, Lasith Malinga (c)
