Who will win Global T20 Canada 2024

After a wait of 4 years, Global T20 Canada is back for its 3rd season which is set to commence on 20th July, 2023 at CAA Centre in the city of Brampton which lies in the Ontario province. 6 teams, representing 6 different cities of Canada, will go head to head against each other in a round-robin format in the GT20 2023 Canada.

Two new teams - Surrey Jaguars and Mississauga Panthers have joined the tournament, replacing Winnipeg Hawks and Edmonton Royals. The Hawks were the winners of last season.

To pick one team as a prediction for this year, we will back Vancouver Knights to win the GT20 Canada 2023 trophy. The Knights won the title in the inaugural season in 2018 under the captaincy of Chris Gayle.

They have Pakistan’s versatile power-hitter and wicketkeeper, Mohammad Rizwan by their side for the upcoming season. UAE’s 21-year-old wicket keeper batter Vriitya Aravind will also feature in the Knights team. He currently averages 30+ in all the formats of the game. Another UAE player Karthik Meiyappan, who is a legbreak bowler has also joined the side. In 14 T20s, he has picked 22 wickets so far.

Coming to the popular cricketers, the Knights have recruited famous Proteas batsmen Rassie van der Dussen and Reeza Hendricks. Both these players have high hitting ability and can change the course of the game at any point.

Looking at the bowling department, they have Afghanistani pacer Naveen-ul-Haq. He recently had a pretty good outing in the IPL 2023 in Lucknow Super Giants team. Naveen has a vast experience of 145 T20 matches in which he has picked 175 wickets at an average of 23.48.
