Their batting in the test series will rely heavily on the likes of Shai Hope, Kraigg Brathwaite, Roston Chase and Kieran Powell. Brathwaite has scored the most runs for the Windies in test cricket from the current squad while Chase finished as their leading run-scorer in the last test series against India. Marlon Samuels is one of West Indies' best batsmen in white-ball cricket and he along with Shimron Hetmyer will be the ones to watch out for once the ODIs get underway. Jason Holder, Shannon Gabriel, Kemar Roach and Devendra Bishoo will be the main threats with both the red and the white ball. Roach is the team's leading wicket-taker in tests as well as the ODIs from the current group of bowlers and he is more likely to trouble the England batsmen on this tour.
Joe Root will be leading England's test team that has not been changed from the one that carried out the recent 3-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka on Sri Lankan soil. While Ollie Pope has been ignored, Joe Denly has retained his place in the 16-man squad. Eoin Morgan will captain the team's 15-man ODI squad that includes David Willey, Tom Curran and Alex Hales. Liam Dawson, Olly Stone and Sam Curran are the ones to have been dropped. Ace all-rounder Ben Stokes has been picked for both the tests and the ODIs.
England's batting on this tour will rely on Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Moeen Ali and Jason Roy. Root is ranked fifth and fourth in the ICC test and ODI batting rankings respectively and he is likely to score plenty of runs in the West Indies. Morgan finished as the leading run-getter in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka. While James Anderson and Stuart Broad will be the biggest threats in England's bowling attack in the longest format. The former is the second-best test bowler in the world and he will be expected to rip through the West Indian batting line-up. Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid and Ben Stokes will be the go-to bowlers in the fifty-over format. Rashid is amongst the world's top ten ODI bowlers and the leg-spinner will have a crucial role to play in the middle overs.
Joe Root (c), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Joe Denly, Ben Foakes, Keaton Jennings, Jack Leach, Adil Rashid, Ben Stokes, Olly Stone, Chris Woakes

England begin as overwhelming favorites amongst the bookmakers to win the test series. The visitors are currently being offered at odds of 1.18 on Betway and 1.20 on Bet365. West Indies, despite playing in their own conditions, find themselves as big underdogs at a much higher price of 8.50 on Betway and 8 on Bet365. The odds for this test series to end in a draw stand at 10 and 9.50 with the respective bookmakers.
West Indies have been struggling big time in the game's longest format. They have lost 10 of their last 13 test series and have managed to win just one of their last six series at home. England, on the other hand, are ranked second in the ICC test rankings. They have won four and drawn one of their past seven test series and have beaten the Windies seven times in the past nine series they have played against them. The visitors are coming on the back of a 4-1 win against India and a 3-0 clean sweep over Sri Lanka and we expect them to clinch their third straight series win in the red-ball format.
Final Verdict: Back England to win the test series at 1.18 with Betway and 1.20 with Bet365.
