Lions benefitted from having their international players available last time out, but Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Wiaan Mulder and Dwaine Pretorious will now link up with the South Africa one-day squad. Ryan Rickleton could therefore return, alongside Delano Potgieter and Nono Pongolo. Temba Bavuma is available, however, after smashing an unbeaten century on his first Momentum One Day Cup appearance of the season last time out.

Temba Bavuma returned from the South African test squad to hit a match-winning unbeaten century last time out – he hit 117 runs from 108 balls and will be key with Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen now away. Hendricks is the competition’s top run scorer so far with 262 runs from three innings.

Wiaan Mulder’s bowling will also be missed, but Lions do have strength in depth in that department. Bjorn Fortuin has claimed three wickets so far, with a tidy economy rate, while Nandre Burger was their most economical bowler last time out, claiming 1-50 from his ten overs to move to three wickets in as many games.
