Toronto Nationals Team News & Playing 11

TTN Team News

Toronto have been unchanged in their last two matches but, after winning neither, changes are surely in order after the two crushing defeats they have fallen to. Mohammad Naveed's place appeared to be in danger, but he hit back well with 2-29 with the ball against Winnipeg Hawks - having conceded 80 runs from his previous six overs before that.

TTN Key Players

Anton Devcich was Toronto Nationals' star man on the opening day, as he bludgeoned 92 from 44 balls in the Nationals' defeat of Vancouver Knights. He top-scored with 34 from 19 balls in the 108 all out against Winnipeg Hawks last time out too.

Steve Smith hit 61 on his return to cricket in the first game, but the disgraced former Australia captain has only added 13 runs in two innings since. Nitish Kumar is the other Toronto batsman with a half-century to his name so far - he hit 55 from 37 balls against Edmonton Royals to top score.

Bowling has been the biggest issue. Highly-rated Canadian all-rounder Nikhil Dutta took 2-26 in the first game but has been wicketless since. Kieron Pollard's excellent 1-14 from four overs in the last game followed figures of 1-18 from two overs and 1-37 from four in the previous matches. He also scored 28 and 25 in his last two innings, though the latter was at an unusually low strike rate of 73.52.

TTN Team Form

Toronto got their Global T20 Canada campaign off to a blistering start, chasing 227/4 to beat Vancouver Knights by six wickets with four balls to spare. Anton Devcich's 92 from 44 balls was the stand-out performance.

It failed to lead to more success, however, as their 169/7 was well short against Edmonton Royals, despite Nitish Kumar's 55. The Royals chased their target with five overs remaining for the loss of just two wickets.

And, last time out, Toronto crashed to just 108 all out in pursuit of Winnipeg Hawks' 164/6 - only three batsman reached double figures.

Montreal Tigers Team News & Playing 11

MNT Team News

Denesh Ramdin and Dillon Heyliger were replaced by USA keeper Ibrahim Khaleel and returning Kevon Cooper for the match against Edmonton Royals last time out. After winning, thanks to some brilliant bowling despite posting a low score, they may be unchanged to face Toronto in their final game.

Rayyan Pathan and Ashley Nurse have both not played since the second match and look unlikely to force their way back in now with the team finding balance to their bowling quintet.

MNT Key Players

Moises Henriques' half-century in the win against Edmonton not only anchored the innings, but took him to 139 runs in four matches so far - comfortably Montreal Tigers' most runs so far. Sikandar Raza is second with 104 runs, with no other rider passing 100 from the first four games.

They have impressed with the ball, however - or their international stars have anyway. Lasith Malinga now has nine wickets from four games after his 2-29 from his four overs against Edmonton Royals. Peter Siddle, meanwhile, took 4-13 from 19 balls to lead Montreal to victory and take his tally to eight in the tournament.

MNT Team Form

After three straight defeats, Montreal finally recorded their first win of the Global T20 Canada at the fourth attempt in their most recent game. Their tournament started with a 46-run defeat to Winnipeg Hawks, after falling to 157 all out in pursuit of 203/4. They then failed to defend 184/9 against the CWI B Team in their second game.

Sikandar Raza top scored in both of those games, while it was George Worker with 43 from 33 balls against Vancouver Knights. They still fell to an 18-run defeat, however, after finishing 148 all out with just two balls of their innings remaining.

They only managed 129/6 in their most recent game - Moises Henriques posting the Tigers' first half-century - but Peter Siddle's superb 4-13 helped bowl Montreal to a 15-run win against Edmonton Royals.

Montreal Tigers Predicted Playing 11

🏆 Toronto Nationals vs Montreal Tigers Prediction

Toronto showed what they can do when they hit top form, when they beat Vancouver Knights on the opening day. Even in ending their losing streak last time out, Montreal Tigers struggled for runs - a lot will rest on the Tigers' bowlers, but Toronto can bounce back from their recent struggles to end the group stage on a high.

Final Verdict: Back Toronto Nationals to beat Montreal Tigers
