Steve Smith will miss the rest of the tournament after undergoing elbow surgery.

Thisara Perera arrived in Bangladesh in top form after his performances for Sri Lanka in New Zealand and showed no let-up as he thumped eight sixes in a 26-ball, unbeaten 74 against Chittagong Vikings. He had previously scored 43 in the T20 international in New Zealand and hit scores of 140 and 80 in the ODI series.
It was a perfectly-timed intervention from the Sri Lankan after a rare failure for Shahid Afridi – the star of their last win, and also top scorer when they last faced Sylhet Sixers. Afridi has five wickets so far, after following up 3-10 with 1-15 last time out. He also 75 runs across four innings, 39 of which came in the win against Sylhet.
Mohammad Saifuddin took two wickets and bowled economically when these sides last met and now has seven wickets in four games, meanwhile.
Elsewhere, Tamim Iqbal is due some runs after a slow start to this year’s tournament for the explosive Bangladeshi opener.
