Somerset are favorites to win
Glamorgan are set to take on Somerset on August 24 as they seek their first win of the Vitality Blast 2019. The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton will be hosting this South Group game which is scheduled to begin at 7 PM local time.
Glamorgan are having a horrible T20 Blast tournament. They are yet to open their account on the points table after having played out eleven league matches and they are the only team this season to have not won a single game thus far. With just five points in the bag and only three more games to go, Glamorgan are already out of contention for the quarter-finals. They can only get to a maximum of 11 points if they win all their remaining fixtures but that won't be enough to take them through. Somerset, on the other hand, have fared much better and can still make it to the knockout round even if they lose this match.

Clear skies with gentle breeze throughout the day have been forecast for Saturday. Temperatures are likely to range from 17 to 23 degrees Celsius and humidity should be around 60-79% through the duration of the game.
Taunton has been nothing less than a batting paradise in this year's Vitality T20 Blast. The ground has hosted four matches so far this season and 150+ has been scored in each of the eight innings. Once again, a flat batting track is expected and it may not be an easy day for the bowlers.
With conditions being ideal for batting, gauging a safe score here will not be easy. And also since the pitch is likely to remain the same across the forty overs, the toss-winning captain will probably prefer to chase.

Somerset have played three completed matches since losing to Middlesex almost three weeks ago and they have fielded the same group of eleven in each of those. There are no injuries within their camp at the moment and we expect them to retain the same line-up from their game against Kent.
Babar Azam: With 434 runs at an average of 62, Pakistan's Babar Azam is leading the runs charts in this year's Vitality Blast. The opening batsman has struck a century (102* against Hampshire earlier this month) and three fifties so far and he is the key man for Somerset when it comes to batting.
Tom Banton: The wicketkeeper-batsman from Buckinghamshire has scored the most runs this season after his opening partner Babar Azam - 396 runs in nine matches. He is averaging 44 and is having an impressive strike-rate of 161.63. Banton cracked a ton recently against Kent and he will be expected to play a match-winning knock on Saturday as well.
Jerome Taylor: The West Indian pacer has taken the most wickets for Somerset this season - 12 wickets in 9 matches. Taylor has picked a couple of wickets in each of the last two games and he has been very economical as well. The team will want him to strike early in the powerplay.
Somerset are currently positioned fifth on the South Group points table with five wins, four losses and a washout from ten league matches. They started off pretty poorly with three defeats in their first four T20 blast matches. However, they managed to turn things around after that, winning four of their next five fixtures. Somerset's encounter against Gloucestershire last week at this very ground was abandoned due to rain without a ball bowled.

Glamorgan made three changes to their side in the last match against Surrey - they dropped Jeremy Lawlor, Kiran Carlson and Michael Hogan for Shaun Marsh, Daniel Douthwaite and Ruaidhri Smith. David Lloyd and Fakhar Zaman will probably continue to open the batting while Shaun Marsh, who got a duck last time out, will bat at number three. Pace bowlers Marchant de Lange and Ruaidhri Smith are likely to take the new balls again.
David Lloyd: He has been the most consistent performer with the bat for Glamorgan so far this T20 Blast season. The Welsh batsman has scored 236 runs which includes a couple of half-centuries - 50 versus Sussex at Hove and 57 versus Somerset at Cardiff.
Andrew Salter: With 10 wickets in 9 matches at a decent economy of 7.54, Andrew Salter has been the best bowler for the team this year. The off-spinner has a couple of four-wicket hauls to his name - 4/23 against Surrey at the Oval and 4/12 against Gloucestershire at Cardiff.
Colin Ingram: Glamorgan will expect their skipper to make a strong contribution with the bat in the middle order. The South African smashed an unbeaten fifty in the reverse encounter against Somerset last month and is coming off a good knock of 41 against Surrey.
Glamorgan are having a horrendous time. They are yet to register a win this season and are languishing at the bottom of the South Group standings with six losses, a tie and four washouts from eleven matches. They had to share points with Kent and Essex in their previous two fixtures. Prior to that, Glamorgan suffered a heavy seven-wicket loss at the hands of Surrey at Cardiff. Though they had a pretty good game with the bat, their bowlers just were not effective enough on the day.

Somerset and Glamorgan have played 31 matches against each other in the English domestic twenty20 tournaments with the former leading the scoreline 16-11. Four of those have ended in no results.
Somerset have beaten Glamorgan on the previous three occasions in the 20-over format. They won both the encounters against them last year as well as the first clash of the ongoing season.
Somerset registered a convincing eight-wicket victory when they faced Glamorgan earlier in the season - at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff last month. Batting first, Glamorgan scored 180/5 in their innings but Somerset eased past that total with a couple of overs to spare.

Somerset begin as favorites to win this South Group game of the Vitality Blast 2019 at 1.53 with Bet365 and 1.47 with 10CRIC. Glamorgan find themselves as the bookmakers' underdogs for this match and they are being offered at a higher price of 2.50 on Bet365 and 2.35 on 10CRIC.
Lying at the bottom of the leaderboard without a win, Glamorgan have looked out of sorts so far in this year's Vitality T20 Blast. They are already out of the race for the quarter-finals and now have nothing to play for but pride. However, playing fearlessly without any pressure could work in their favor and help them spoil Somerset's plans. But having said that, Glamorgan will have to up their game and need to fire collectively as a unit if they are to end their losing streak. Somerset have performed far better this season, have the home advantage on their side and have more in-form players in their line-up. They defeated Glamorgan quite convincingly in the reverse fixture and are favorites to complete the double over them on Saturday.
