So far in this year's PSL, the side bowling first has had far more success than the side batting first at this ground. Since the pitch here is not expected to change after the first-half of the game, the team that wins the toss is likely to continue the trend of bowling first.

Batsman Dawid Malan and pace bowler Chris Jordan have left the team to join the England national team that is currently touring the West Indies. They have been replaced in the squad by Lendl Simmons and Tymal Mills. The latter may have to wait for his opportunity as the team's bowling group has been in very good form. Peshawar Zalmi do not have any injury worries going into this game.
Imam-ul-Haq, Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard form the backbone of Peshawar Zalmi's batting and it will be crucial from the team's perspective that at least one of them goes on to score big in this match. Imam has scored the most runs for them so far and he recently smashed a fifty against Multan Sultans. Simmons and Pollard can both be dangerous on their day. Pollard belted a 22-ball 51 in the reverse encounter and he will look to replicate that brilliant knock. When it comes to bowling, the spotlight will mainly be on Hasan Ali who has by far looked the most impressive of all the bowlers in this tournament. He and Sameen Gul took five wickets between themselves last time against Islamabad United and the new-ball pair will once again look to rock them early on. Wahab Riaz too has bowled well so far and he is another bowler who can create problems for the opposition.
Peshawar Zalmi currently find themselves in the top four on the PSL 2019 points table. After going down to Quetta Gladiators in their campaign opener, they bounced back strongly to defeat Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings in their next two games respectively. Peshawar then faced a 12-run loss in the reverse encounter against Islamabad United before securing a thrilling five-wicket win over Multan Sultans.

Islamabad United have roped in West Indian wicket-keeper batsman Chadwick Walton as a replacement for Ian Bell who had earlier been ruled out of the rest of the tournament due to injury. The team made a couple of changes to their side for the previous game against Karachi Kings with Philip Salt and Amad Butt brought in for Sahibzada Farhan and Wayne Parnell respectively. Islamabad are coming off a win and so they may not want to tinker with their current line-up.
Luke Ronchi is currently topping the PSL 04 runs charts with 224 runs which includes a couple of half-centuries. The opening batsman is having a strike-rate of 162.31 and he is undoubtedly the key man for Islamabad United when it comes to batting. Asif Ali has been their next best batsman with a strike-rate of close to 169 and the middle-order batsman is coming off 38-ball 70 against Karachi Kings. Islamabad, however, will also be hoping for Hussain Talat and Cameron Delport to step up. Faheem Ashraf, Rumman Raees and Shadab Khan are the key figures in this bowling unit. Faheem has taken the most wickets for the team - eight in seven matches. Raees has six from four games. The pacer finished with impressive figures of 3-27 last time out and he will be expected to push Peshawar on the back foot in the powerplay. Peshawar will also be wary of Muhammad Musa who took three wickets against them last week.
Islamabad United are leading the PSL 2019 league standings with four wins and three losses from seven matches. Their most recent encounter came against Karachi Kings on Wednesday when they registered a convincing five-wicket victory. Their win in the previous match means that they now have three wins in their last four matches. Islamabad, after a poor batting display in the game against Multan Sultans where they were bowled out for 121, put on a good show with the bat last time as they chased Karachi's 168 quite comfortably.

Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United have played nine matches against each other in the Pakistan Super League with the latter leading the scoreline 6-3.
Islamabad United have won four of their last five encounters against Peshawar Zalmi, including the most recently played three.
Islamabad United beat Peshawar Zalmi twice in the three matches that they played against them last year (including the PSL 03 final). They beat them again by 12 runs when these two teams faced each other earlier in the ongoing season at Sharjah last week.
Matches Played: 9; Peshawar Zalmi Won: 3; Islamabad United Won: 6
Islamabad United have the upper hand as far as head-to-head record is concerned. They have overpowered Peshawar Zalmi on the previous three occasions and having beaten them in the last week's reverse encounter is going to give them a big psychological advantage. However, there seems to be a weak spot in this side. Although there is plenty of talent in their bowling department, it is their batting that looks a little vulnerable and over-reliant on Luke Ronchi. Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, have a stellar batting line-up comprising several power-hitters like Pollard and Simmons and their bowling too has been top-notch this year. They may have an ordinary record against Islamabad, but we feel that their stronger team composition makes them favorites for this match.
Final Verdict: Back Peshawar Zalmi to beat Islamabad United.
