Pakistan and England go head to head in the first of seven IT20s in Karachi on Tuesday evening. This is the first time that England have travelled to play in Pakistan since December 2005. The hosts reached the final of the 2022 Asia Cup earlier this month with England losing their last IT20 series to South Africa. Read on as we preview this game. Pakistan had a mixed campaign in the Asia Cup but still went all the way to the final and beat India by five wickets on the way. They will be confident of beating England in home conditions.
England have gone through an extended run of poor form in this format since losing in the 2021 T20 World Cup Semi-Final. They have an inexperienced squad but plenty of exciting players.

Left-arm pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury and will take no part in the series. He is joined on the sidelines by top order batter Fakhar Zaman who is being rested after sustaining a knee injury of his own in the Asia Cup Final.
Although Pakistan reached the final of the 2022 Asia Cup, they lost both of their last two games in the tournament to Sri Lanka.
