Lancashire are favourites to win
Northamptonshire Steelbacks will take on Lancashire Lightning in the 2022 Vitality Blast. The game will be played at The County Ground, Northampton starting at 18:30 local time on Friday June 17th.
Northamptonshire Steelbacks have been very impressive in this season’s T20 Blast and are in second place after taking 11 points from eight games. In total, they have won five, lost two and had one no-result. Over their last four matches they have won three and lost one with victories against Worcestershire Rapids, Derbyshire Falcons and Durham. In Australian opener Chris Lynn, the Steelbacks have the tournament’s highest run scorer. With the ball, captain Josh Cobb took 5-25 in the last game.
Lancashire Lightning are top of the North Group after winning six, tieing one and getting one no-result from their first eight matches. They were unbeaten before their last game when they surprisingly lost by 2 wickets to Durham who had only won two fixtures prior to the clash. Overall, Lightning have won the big moments in the tight games and have dominated many other matches. Richard Gleeson has picked up 16 wickets so far in the competition and there are only four players who have scored more runs than Tim David.
