MUL vs KAR T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips, PSL 2024
Multan Sultans take on Karachi Kings in Match 3 of the 2024 Pakistan Super League on Sunday evening. This is the first game of the campaign for both sides and the first match of this season’s tournament to take place in Multan. The Sultans finished as runners-up last year with the Kings down in fifth. Read on as we preview the fixture. This day-night game begins at the Multan Cricket Stadium at 19:00 local time on Sunday 18th February.
Multan Sultans lost the final by just one run last year and they will be determined to go one step further in this campaign. We are not expecting the disappointment from the 2023 tournament to still affect the side and we anticipate they will get off to a winning start.
Karachi Kings won only three games throughout their entire campaign last season and one of those victories was from their final group stage fixture when they had already been knocked out! They took four matches to claim their first win in 2023 and we expect them to be beaten in this opener.

Multan Sultans Team News & Playing 11
MUL Team News
There was disappointment earlier this week for fans of Multan Sultans when it was announced that England international left-arm pace bowler Reece Topley had not been awarded a No Objection Certificate by the ECB. As a result, the Sultans could be a little light in the bowling department for this opener of their PSL 2024 campaign.
MUL Key Players
- Mohammad Rizwan- with an average of 55 in the tournament last year, the keeper-batter was pretty much unstoppable and he will be keen to get off to a flying start once again.
- Usman Khan- the 28 year old top order batter from the UAE has made good starts in recent ILT20 matches but this pitch could see him find some good form at the start of the PSL.
- David Willey- the left-arm bowling all-rounder has the ability to win a T20 match with both bat and ball. No longer centrally contracted by England, he is able to fully focus on his own career.
- Shahnawaz Dahani- the tall right-arm fast medium bowler had a very strong PSL two seasons ago and, with a T20 strike-rate of 15.3, we can expect him to be very tough to face once again.
MUL Team Form
Multan Sultans went all the way to the final before their last ball defeat in the 2023 PSL.

KAR Team News
With a new bowling coach in Steve Kirby, Karachi Kings will be looking to get off to a better start in this year’s tournament. The in-form Leus du Plooy has been impressive in the SA20 and the ILT20 but is still involved in the latter so will miss this opener.
KAR Key Players
- Shoaib Malik- the 42 year old has hit 82 half-centuries in T20 cricket and he is a vastly experienced player in Pakistan conditions. He has hit over 1000 fours in this format.
- Shan Masood- the skipper will open the batting, looking to add to his 3800 T20 career runs. The left-hander was in good form in Pakistan during the Test series late last year.
- Daniel Sams- the left-arm fast medium bowler has been picking up wickets in the ILT20 tournament of late. He is also a very useful lower order batter.
- Mohammad Nawaz- the all-rounder has been in fine form in international cricket and in the BPL over recent months. He is capable of making a big contribution with both bat and ball.
