Our Pick Karachi Kings are favorites to win
After 8 months of hiatus, Pakistan Super League is finally set to resume with Multan Sultans taking on Karachi Kings in the first qualifier of the tournament. The match will be played on the National Stadium Karachi and is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM local time
The wait is over! Pakistan will finally witness a new champion of their most popular domestic T-20 tournament, PSL. With 5 wins and 4 losses in the league stages, we can’t say that Karachi had the best of the tournament, what we can say is that they’ve a better squad than Multan Sultan. Yes, Karachi Kings boast of some of the biggest names of international cricket in Babar Azam, Mohammed Amir, Mohammed Rizwan, Alex Hales, Wayne Parnell, Imad Wasim, Chadwick Walton yet, it was Multan Sultan that demolished them by 52 runs in their previous encounter. Karachi Kings however will be more determined than ever and would want to win this for their former coach Dean Jones who left for heavenly abode in September. For them, Wasim Akram will take charge as the interim coach for the remainder of the tournament. Babar Azam is the leading run scorer of the tournament and looking at his form against Zimbabwe, he’ll be a massive obstacle for Multan Sultan. He along with Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammed Rizan, Sharjeel Khan, Cameron Delport form a very strong batting order. Karachi’s bowling is definitely a concern but they do have a batting line up to make up for it.
Multan Sultan, on the other hand had a flawless journey to the qualifiers, winning 6 of their 8 completed games. Shan Masood was the top scorer for Multan in the league games with 253 runs in 9 innings. Ravi Bopara, Khushdil Shah and Asad Shafiq form a strong middle order while Bilawal Bhatti, Junaid Khan, Ali Shafiq and Usman Qadir are good enough to rattle any batting order. Overall, it’s all set up for an enthralling contest but we expect Karachi Kings to prevail in the match as many of their players are fresh from a limited over series against Zimbabwe.

Toss can’t be predicted but teams need to watch out for the dew to make a call. If there’s dew, batting second will be the most feasible option, if not, captains might want to bat first.
Weather in Karachi will be clear with no chances of rain. The temperatures will be hovering around 20 degrees
The match will be played at the National Stadium Karachi. The wickets in Karachi are traditionally good batting wickets with some movement for the bowlers with the new ball. However, since no cricket is played on this ground from a long time, it’s difficult to predict the true nature of the wicket.
