Teams have preferred to chase so far in the Global T20 Canada competition after winning the toss. Vancouver lost and Winnipeg won batting first in their respective opening games though.

Kevon Cooper may return to face Vancouver Knights. He was replaced in the bowling line-up by Sandeep Lamichhane for the game against CWI B, but the Nepalese bowler’s four overs went for 57 runs as he was unable to replicate the wicket-taking form he showed for Delhi Daredevils in the IPL.
Montreal Tigers were otherwise unchanged for both matches.
Captain Lasith Malinga has been in outstanding form with the ball, picking up two wickets apiece in each of the first two matches. His figures of 2/19 in the first game were the stand-out bowling figures and he followed that up with 2/32 against the CWI B Team.
Peter Siddle also claimed two wickets in that match, while Sunil Narine’s economical four overs saw him return figures of 1/15.
Narine, who most recently starred in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders, has scored 20 and 28 in his first two innings so far but has not kicked on. Sikandar Raza’s 48 against the CWI B Team was the Tigers’ highest score so far – he now has 78 from two games.
Montreal Tigers were all out for 157 against Winnipeg Hawks, falling well short of the Hawks’ 203/4 in their first match despite Sikandar Raza’s breezy 30. Lasith Malinga had earlier returned excellent bowling figures of 2/19.
Raza and Malinga were the top batsman and bowler for the Tigers again against the CWI B Team, but they failed to defend their total of 184/9 – falling to defeat against the inexperienced West Indian side with five balls to spare.

Vancouver’s batting line-up boasts Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Chadwick Walton, Rassie van der Dussen and Andre Russell.
With the ball, though, Vancouver may be tempted to make changes. Every bowler was expensive in their opening match, not least Sheldon Cottrell – who finished with 0-54 from his four overs – and Jeremy Gordon (0-25 after just eight legal deliveries). Guyanan spinner Steven Jacobs is one option to bring in.
Evin Lewis continued his fine T20 form, following up his 26-ball 58 at Lord’s for the West Indies by blasting 96 from just 55 balls (including ten sixes) in Vancouver’s opening game. He opens the batting with his fellow West Indian opener, the captain Chris Gayle, who arrives in Canada on the back of averaging 40.88 in the IPL – hitting the 21st T20 century of his career along the way.
Lewis and Gayle partnered each other at the top of the order to great effect in last year’s Caribbean Premier League too, a competition in which Chadwick Walton – their new Vancouver Knights team-mate – finished as top scorer.
Andre Russell continued his fine IPL form in the opening game, meanwhile – the all-rounder hit 54 from 20 balls before bowling ten dot balls and claiming the wicket of West Indian team-mate Kieron Pollard in the Toronto innings. Aussie leg-spinner Fawaz Ahmed was the only bowler to go at less than ten-an-over for Vancouver, however, as he claimed 1-35 from his four overs.
Vancouver Knights will have been confident after posting 227/4 in the first match of the Global T20 Canada competition but their bowlers failed to back it up as Evin Lewis’ 55-ball 96 proved to be in vain. Toronto Nationals reached the target with four balls to spare.
Most recently they faced David Warner’s Winnipeg Hawks on the Sunday, before this game – their second in two days.
Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Chadwick Walton, Babar Hayat, Rassie van der Dussen, Andre Russell, Saad Bin Zafar, Tim Southee, Sheldon Cottrell, Fawad Ahmed, Jeremy Gordon
Both Montreal Tigers and Vancouver Knights got their Global T20 Canada campaigns off to a bad start, but it hard to back against the Knights’ phenomenal batting line-up. If Lewis, Gayle and co fire, Vancouver will win.
Final Verdict: Back Vancouver Knights to beat Montreal Tigers
