Essex Eagles lost to Somerset by 8 wickets on Sunday in front of their home fans in Chelmsford. The margin of defeat was a surprise as a win for the Eagles would have meant that they would have jumped over Somerset in the South Group and moved up to second. Michael Pepper scored 86 not out from 49 balls and was well supported by Paul Walter who made 58 runs from 29 balls. However it was not enough and in spite of Daniel Sams taking 1-29 from 4 overs, the Eagles were beaten with 15 deliveries remaining.
