IRE vs SCO Betting Tips

  • Ireland and Scotland will conclude the hastily-arranged Tri-Nation Series against each other, with the winner set to win the series.
  • Scotland won both of their matches against the Netherlands, hammering 252/3 in the first game and bowling them out for 123 in the second.

Who will win Ireland vs Scotland, 6th T20?

The final game of the 2019-20 Ireland Tri-Nation Series in Dublin will see Ireland and Scotland compete to win the series. The match will take place at The Village, Malahide, on September 20. It is scheduled to start at 13:30 local time.

Scotland sit top ahead of this match, having won both of their games against the Netherlands. The batsmen excelled in the first meeting and it was the turn of the bowlers – led by Hamza Tahir’s four-wicket haul – last time out.

Their one defeat was in the previous meeting with Ireland, however – Andrew Balbirnie hitting 64 from 32 balls to lead the hosts to victory. They sit two points behind Scotland, however, after losing to the Netherlands most recently. Their other game against the Dutch was rained off.

IRE vs SCO Toss Prediction

Scotland won the toss when these teams last met – the only time they have so far – and elected to bat first. Batting first has been the tendency, and Scotland could do the same again even though they lost to the Irish last time they met.

IRE vs SCO Weather Report

Conditions will be again be sunny and clear in Dublin, with the prospect of rain very low. There will be quite a lot of wind around, however, despite temperatures around the 17 degrees Celsius mark.

IRE vs SCO Pitch Condition

Scores at Malahide have generally been high during this series. Even when Scotland carted the Netherlands last time out, they then scored at a high rate themselves. It is definitely a pitch for batting.

Ireland Team News & Playing 11

IRE Team News

David Delany and Harry Tector made their T20i debuts when these teams last met and retained their places last time out too. Craig Young and George Dockrell came into the team last time out, but Boyd Rankin could return this time. This is also the last opportunity to give Simi Singh game time, after he was called up to replaced injured Jacob Mulder. Paul Stirling has not been risked as he suffered a minor injury.

IRE Key Players

Andy Balbirnie: The big-hitting batsman scored 64 in the first meeting with Scotland and 45 last time out against the Dutch. He has now passed 500 T20i runs, with his strike rate still above the 130 mark.

George Dockrell: Returned to the team last time out to take 3-23 with the ball. With support from elsewhere, they could have been match-winning figures.

Gareth Delany: Impressed when these teams last met when hit 52 at the top of the order, having earlier taken 2-31. He needs to produces that consistently if he is to stay in this team though.

IRE Team Form

Ireland have played two matches so far, having seen their first game – against the Netherlands – rained off.

Against Scotland, Gareth Delany (52) and Andy Balbirnie (64) led the a chase of 194 to win by four wickets with 2.2 overs remaining. They then lost to the Dutch, however, despite Balbirnie’s 45 and Harry Tector’s 60. The Irish scored 181/7 but failed to defend it – losing by six wickets in the final over.

Ireland Predicted Playing 11

Gareth Delany, Kevin O’Brien, Gary Wilson (c, wk), Andrew Balbirnie, Harry Tector, Stuart Thompson, Mark Adair, Simi Singh, David Delany, George Dockrell, Boyd Rankin

IRE vs SCO Dream11 Team Prediction, Captain, Vice Captain

Wicket-keeper

Matthew Cross is the top-scoring wicket-keeper so far, but the Scots could elect to give Craig Wallace another game. With that in mind, the safer decision could be Irish captain Gary Wilson.

Batsmen

Andy Balbirnie top-scored for Ireland when these teams last met and he is a great pick at 9.5 credits. Kevin O’Brien has not hit top form so far, but the Scottish trio of Calum MacLeod, Kyle Coetzer and, most especially, George Munsey have all showed what they are capable of. Harry Tector top-scored for the Irish most recently, meanwhile, and could be good value at 8.5 credits.

All-rounders

Richie Berrington is Scotland’s leading all-rounder and the top scorer of the all-rounders in Dream 11 in this Tri-Nation Series. Gareth Delany excelled in this fixture, with bat and ball, when they last met, while Tom Sole impressed on his Scotland debut last time out. That could make the latter two better picks than Mark Adair, despite his form prior to this tournament.

Bowlers

Alasdair Evans picked up an injury in the last game and it is unlikely his shoulder will be risked even if he is passed fit. The World T20 Qualifier is a far bigger fish to fry. Mark Watt could lead the Scottish attack instead, while they had Hamza Tahir in top form last time too. For Ireland, George Dockrell impressed last time out and is good value at nine credits. Boyd Rankin can be backed at the same price as he looks to return to the team.

Captain/Vice-captain

Gareth Delany impressed with bat and ball when these teams last met and he could be key again if he performs to that standard. He did not reach the same heights last time out, however, so it would be a risk. Maybe vice-captain is better. George Munsey’s batting form makes him hard to ignore for full captain, meanwhile, though Andy Balbirnie is another good option too.

SCO Team News

Tom Sole’s performance on his T20i debut should earn him another crack this time. Alasdair Evans picked up a shoulder injury in the last game and, even if he is fit, it is doubtful he will be risked. Mark Watt could come back into the team in his place.

SCO Key Players

George Munsey: Started the tournament with his blistering 127* and has made two good starts since too – 34 and 27. If he fires at the top of the order, Scotland could post a big score.

Calum MacLeod: Top-scored when these teams last met, hitting 72 to get back to his best form. It was his highest T20i score and a sign he could start translating his ODI success into the shorter format.

Hamza Tahir: Got back to the form he showed in the recent ODIs (his first for Scotland) against Papua New Guinea and Oman, by taking 4-30 in the win against the Netherlands last time out.

SCO Team Form

Scotland’s two wins so far in this Tri Series have come against the Netherlands. George Munsey and Kyle Coetzer starred with the bat in a total of 252/3 in the first game – the Scots winning by 58 runs – while Hamza Tahir starred with the ball in the second, as they bowled the Dutch out for 123.

In between, however, they suffered defeat to Ireland – posting 181/7 from their 20 overs and losing by six wickets with five balls to spare.

Scotland Predicted Playing 11

George Munsey, Kyle Coetzer (c), Matthew Cross (wk), Calum MacLeod, Richie Berrington, Ollie Hairs, Michael Leask, Adrian Neill, Tom Sole, Mark Watt, Hamza Tahir
