IRE vs NZ 1st T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips
After a thrilling three match ODI series, which was won 3-0 by the visitors, Ireland and New Zealand lock horns again in this first IT20. Ireland have lost to India in this format and New Zealand in ODIs but have been competitive. The Black Caps will be pleased with their results in the ODIs but will want to improve their performances. Read on as we preview this opening fixture of the series. The first IT20 begins at 16:00 local time in Stormont on Monday afternoon.
As in other formats, Ireland have been far too good for the lesser sides but have come unstuck in this format against the stronger teams. However, they will believe that they can get something out of this match.
New Zealand welcome back Daryl Mitchell who has been excellent for them in this format and carries excellent form from the Test series in England. He could well be the difference between a tight win and a comfortable victory.

IRE vs NZ Match Toss Prediction
New Zealand won all three of the tosses in the ODI series. They chose to bowl first in two of the games and we expect both captains to choose to bowl first in this fixture.
IRE vs NZ Pitch Report
The pitch in Belfast is always more conducive to swing and seam bowling as opposed to spin. We expect a high scoring game due to the small boundaries at this venue.

Humidity levels will increase during this game and will peak at 70% towards the end of this game.

IRE Team News
The home side pushed New Zealand all the way in each of the ODIs and we expect them to be very strong in this series also. They very nearly beat India in their last IT20, eventually losing by only four runs and are fortunate to not have any injuries or player unavailability.

- Paul Stirling- the short right handed opener went big in the final ODI. He scored 120 runs from 103 balls and struck 19 boundaries in total.
- Andy Balbirnie- the Irish skipper made single figure scores in all three games of the ODI series. However, he hit 60 runs from 37 balls in the second IT20 against India.
- Josh Little- the 22 year old left-arm quick picked up two wickets in his last IT20 against India at the end of June. He dismissed Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav.

Spinner Mitchell Santner will captain the team in this series and he will lead quite an experienced side. Although, like in the ODI series, some of New Zealand’s biggest names are not on show, the Black Caps still have the likes of Martin Guptill and Lockie Ferguson available as well as other form players.
NZ Key Players
- Martin Guptill- the vastly experienced New Zealand opener scored 115 in the final ODI of the series on Friday. He scored 45 not out in the previous IT20 clash between the sides.
- Daryl Mitchell- the batting all-rounder has already broken plenty of records this summer after scoring three tons and two half-centuries during the Test series in England.
- Lockie Ferguson- although the right-arm pace bowler returned figures of 0-60 in the third ODI, he has been an excellent T20 performer over the last 18 months.

🏆 Ireland vs New Zealand Prediction
We expect this game to be incredibly close and predict some more fantastic entertainment from these two teams. Ireland come into the game without wins from their recent games but they have come very close to causing an upset. However, we think New Zealand will have enough and will get the win again.
