Ireland and Afghanistan lock horns for the fourth match of five in this IT20 series on Monday afternoon in Stormont, Belfast. After winning the opening two games of the series by seven and five wickets, the hosts came up 22 runs short in Friday’s clash. Read on as we preview the penultimate game of the series. Ireland had a poor start to their chase on Friday but got themselves back into the game thanks to a key eighth-wicket partnership. Their never say die attitude has served them well for a long time against the bigger sides.

There were two debutants for Ireland ahead of the third IT20 with bowling all-rounder Fionn Hand and fast-medium bowler Graham Hume coming in for Barry McCarthy and Andy McBrine. Although both were quite expensive with the ball, we expect to see them both in the side again for this match.
Ireland will have been disappointed to have ended their winning run but there were still plenty of positive in Friday’s defeat.

Exciting opening batter Hazratullah Zazai had recovered sufficiently from illness and was able to make his first appearance in the series on Friday. He took the place of Hashmatullah Shahidi and produced a useful 39 at the top of the order.
