Unsurprisingly they have lost both of their recent games in the competition, returning from the West Country empty-handed after a 10 run defeat by Gloucestershire and a 5 run loss to Somerset. Middlesex lost the reverse fixture by 2 wickets towards the end of June in spite of an unbeaten 102 from Steve Eskinazi and posting 183-2. Their last win came over Sussex at the beginning of the month.
