Derbyshire vs Yorkshire Prediction

Gary Ballance top-scored for Yorkshire with 30 runs and his presence adds stability to their middle order. The top-order failed to click and they will need to put up a much better show with the bat against a strong Derbyshire side. They don't bat too deep and so their top four will be under some pressure.

Leg-spinner Adil Rashid took two wickets and was the most impressive of the lot. Bresnan was very expensive and though Plunkett and Patterson bowled well, they could not defend their total of 170.

Our Prediction

Both teams have played two games against each other before (one each in the previous two editions), with Yorkshire winning both of them. Yorkshire’s most recent victory over Derbyshire came last year at the County Cricket Ground when they won by 7 runs (D/L method). But while they have begun this year's campaign with a huge defeat, Derbyshire are on a roll with back-to-back wins.

Although Yorkshire Vikings hold a better record against Derbyshire Falcons, we feel that the latter should be the favorites to win this match based on the current form.
