Leicestershire faced Northamptonshire last time out but the game eventually ended in a no result due to rain.

Derbyshire Falcons put up an impressive show with the bat in their previous match against Worcestershire where openers Luis Reece and Billy Godleman came to the fore. While Reece struck 51 off 39 balls, Godleman stole the limelight with his sizzling 67-ball 92. The team will want both these opening batsmen to produce match-winning knocks on Thursday as well. With three fifties this season, Leus du Plooy too has shown good form so far and the left-hander is another key figure in this batting line-up.
In terms of bowling, Derbyshire will look to the likes of Boyd Rankin, Ravi Rampaul and Matthew Critchley to put Leicestershire under pressure. Rampaul has been the most consistent performer with the ball picking up 14 wickets in 8 matches and the West Indian pacer will be expected to strike early in the powerplay. Leg-spinner Critchley notched up a four-wicket haul last time and his spell in the middle overs is going to be crucial.

Leicestershire Foxes had a pretty ordinary outing with the bat last time in their rain-affected encounter against Northamptonshire. A knock of 32 by Mark Cosgrove and 37 by Harry Dearden were the only positives for the team in terms of batting. Harry Swindells, who hit a fifty recently against Warwickshire, and skipper Colin Ackermann are two other quality batsmen in the side.
Colin Ackermann has been Leicestershire's top performer with both bat and ball - he has scored 242 runs which includes a couple of fifties in addition to picking up eight wickets at a decent economy rate of 6.15. Ackermann returned magical figures of 7-18 from four overs against Warwickshire and the team will want him to deliver a similar performance in this upcoming game against Derbyshire. Callum Parkinson and Dieter Klein will probably take the new balls and the onus will be on these two left-handers to provide the early breakthroughs.

Derbyshire Falcons and Leicestershire Foxes have played 30 matches against each other in the English domestic twenty20 tournaments with the latter leading the scoreline 17-9. Four of those encounters have not produced any results.
Derbyshire have won four of the last six completed matches that they have played against Leicestershire in the 20-over format.
The two teams faced-off twice in the previous edition of the Vitality Blast. While Derbyshire won the first encounter by six wickets, rain played spoilsport in the second and it ended without a result.

Derbyshire Falcons are favorites to win this match at 1.80 with Betway, 1.72 with Betway and 1.66 with 10CRIC. Leicestershire Foxes begin as outsiders amongst the bookmakers for this North Group encounter. They have been priced a little higher at 1.95 on Betway, 2.10 on Bet365 and 2 on 10CRIC.
Derbyshire Falcons will have the advantage of playing at their home ground on Thursday. However, they have lost six of their last eight completed matches here and this is something that will make Leicestershire Foxes more optimistic. Leicestershire have the upper hand in terms of overall head-to-head count with a 17-9 advantage, but it is Derbyshire who have the edge when it comes to the recent match-ups between these two teams with four wins in the last six completed meetings. Also, Derbyshire have fared slightly better so far this season and have most of their players in good form which is another reason why we are backing them to prevail in this battle.
