The 2023 Champions will certainly be without Sri Lankan pace bowler Matheesha Pathirana and New Zealand opener Devon Conway for this and a number of games at the start of the tournament. - Daryl Mitchell - The New Zealand batting all-rounder has been playing at a very high level for the last four years of his career across all formats. He was picked by CSK in the last auction and he has a vast experience of T20 format. In 195 T20 matches he has scored 4251 runs and picked 76 wickets.
- Ravindra Jadeja - The India international all-rounder picked up 20 wickets during the 2023 IPL, his best return across a campaign so far. Jadeja has been impressive with the ball lately, picking 19 wickets in 4 Tests against England in February-March but he looks a bit out of form with the bat. Nevertheless he was the key behind CSK’s win in the final of the 2023 edition.
- Tushar Deshpande - The right-arm pace bowler took 21 wickets across last year’s tournament after taking only four during the 2020 and 2022 competitions. After an impactful performance last year, he is certainly a key pacer for CSK in this season. He can be useful in the powerplay and middle overs.
- Shivam Dube - He will be a go-to batter on this pitch for CSK as he plays the spin quite well and goes for big shots against them. The teams tend to use spin bowlers at this venue so he will be a crucial player. Dube scored 438 runs at a strike rate of 158.33 in the last season.

- Mohammed Siraj - The right-arm pace bowler will pitch the ball up and make the most of any swing on offer in the opening overs and is a great competitor. Siraj had his best IPL season last year. He picked 19 wickets in 14 matches at an impressive strike rate of 15.79.
- Lockie Ferguson - The New Zealand quick bowler will be hoping to knock over some of his international team-mates in this game. He had a strike-rate of 13.84 during the 2021 IPL.
