Barbados Royals women are favorites to win

The first game saw over 320 runs being scored on the pitch. There is nothing on the surface for the bowlers to encourage so once again a high-scoring game can be expected.

Barbados Royals women come into the match after beating Guyana Amazon Warriors women in the previous game. Chasing a target of 167 was not easy but every batter contributed to help the team to a win in the 20th over by six wickets. The team has plenty of firepower in the batting with the likes of Hayley Matthews, Gaby Lewis, Rashada Williams, and Laura Harris among others.
Hayley Mathews, Gaby Lewis and Laua Harris will be our top performers with the bat. Matthews is one of the best in business in women’s cricket while Lewis scored 47 in the first game to lay a solid platform for the chase which was cashed in by Laura Harris, who scored 30 in 12 balls to help the team to a win.
The bowling will rest on the shoulders of Hayley Matthews, who has a brilliant record with the ball too. Chinelle Henry and Afy Fletcher are also good options with the ball. Henry and Fletcher did not pick a wicket in the first game but had an economy of less than 6.
Barbados Royals women reached the final last year but suffered a defeat to Trinbago Knight Riders.
Hayley Matthews (c), Gaby Lewis, Rashada Williams (wk), Laura Harris, Erin Burns, Aaliyah Alleyne, Chedean Nation, Chinelle Henry, Afy Fletcher, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Qiana Joseph
Trinbago Knight Riders have a good team. They have big names like Deandra Dottin, Dan van Niekerk, Mignon du Preez, Shamilia Connell and Olra Prendergast. The team has enough firepower to beat the Barbados Royals.
Deandra Dottin will be the most important batter in the team. Dottin is one of the greats in women’s cricket and one of the few batters who have scored a century in T20 cricket. She has over 2600 runs in T20I cricket. Dan van Niekerk and Mignon du Preez are also match winners with the bat. Neikerk have 1877 and Du Preez has 1805 runs to her name.
The bowling will depend on Shamilia Conell, Deandra Dottin and Orla Prendergast. The bowlers have taken 44, 62 and 22 wickets respectively.
Trinbago Knight Riders Women are coming into the tournament as defending champions. They defeated the Barbados Royals in the final last season.
Coming Soon......
Barbados Royals started the tournament with a win. The team easily chased a target of over 160, showing the depth in batting. Knight Riders too have a good team but a lot will depend on how Dottin plays. We feel that the team has some loopholes in the lower-middle order and also the bowling department. For us, Barbados Royals are favourites.
