Barbados Royals Women are favourites to win
Barbados Royals Women will take on Guyana Amazon Warriors Women in Match 6 of the Women’s 6ixty. The game will be played at Warner Park Sporting Complex, Basseterre starting at 15:00 local time on Saturday 25th August.
Barbados Royals Women have won one of their three games so far in the tournament but could still reach the final of the Women’s 6ixty with a win in this match. If the Royals get the victory then all three teams will finish the group stage with four points and net-run-rate will be used to decide which two sides finish in the top two positions and advance to Sunday afternoon’s Final. Barbados won their opening match by 28 runs against Trinbago Knight Riders but have since lost by five wickets to Guyana Amazon Warriors and 29 runs in the second fixture with Trinbago. The defeat against the Knight Riders saw three Barbados batters dismissed in three balls as Geetika Kodali took a hat-trick.
Guyana Amazon Warriors Women are currently in second place with a two point lead over Barbados Royals. However, their net-run-rate is only marginally better than the Royals and a defeat in this game would probably see the net-run-rate advantage switch sides. The Warriors were top of the table after three matches in the tournament, at which point they had already beaten Barbados Royals by five wickets and Trinbago Knight Riders by 15 runs. However, they had a nightmare in the return fixture against the Knight Riders. The Warriors were dismissed for only 33 before the Knight Riders reached their target inside four overs.
The match will be played at Warner Park Sporting Complex, Basseterre. Spinners have enjoyed bowling on this surface in the Women’s 6ixty.

This game should have an eliminator play-off feel to it as the winner of the match should progress to the final with the losers knocked out of the tournament. We expect to see some nervous moments at times and are predicting a victory for Barbados Royals
