Toss Prediction
Neither team would want to bat fourth on this pitch, and since the last five test matches played at this venue have all been won by the side batting first, the toss-winning team is highly likely to bat first.
Weather Report
The weather forecast looks pretty good for most part of the game except for the fourth day - there is a slight chance of rain on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to fluctuate between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius during the playing hours each day.
Pitch Condition
The pitch at the Shere Bangla generally remains good for batting for the first two to three days. The surface starts to deteriorate thereafter and offers more grip and turn to the spinners. 343 is the average first-innings score here in tests.

Bangladesh Team News & Playing 11
BAN Team News
Mominul Haque will lead Bangladesh's 16-man squad for this upcoming series against Zimbabwe. Mushfiqur Rahim, who did not travel to Pakistan due to security concerns, has returned for the home fixtures. All-rounder Mahmudullah, meanwhile, has been dropped from the test set-up with the national selectors asking him to focus primarily on white-ball cricket. The home team will also be without Soumya Sarkar who won't be available due to his marriage. Fast bowler Al Amin Hossain too has been sidelined for this game as he is currently recuperating from his back niggle.
BAN Key Players
Tamim Iqbal: The opener is Bangladesh's most successful batsman in test cricket and is also the second-highest run-getter at the Shere Bangla in this format - 1125 runs which includes two hundreds and eight fifties. Tamim recently smashed an unbeaten triple ton in a first-class game.
Mushfiqur Rahim: He has been one of the most consistent performers with the bat for Bangladesh across formats. Rahim scored an impressive 140 last week while playing for the North Zone in a domestic-level match.
Mehidy Hasan: The off-spinner should enjoy bowling in these spin-friendly conditions. He is coming off a four-wicket haul in a recent game at the Bangladesh Cricket League and has five fifers in addition to a couple of ten-wicket hauls to his name at this ground.
BAN Recent Form
Bangladesh have not been performing too well of late in the game's longest format. They have suffered defeats in each of their previous six matches and five of those have been innings defeats which shows how much they have been struggling. Their last test win dates back to December 2018 against the West Indies at this very ground where they won by an innings and 184 runs. Bangladesh lost to Pakistan by an innings and 44 runs in their most recent test encounter earlier in the month at Rawalpindi.

Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das (wk), Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mominul Haque (c), Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun, Mehidy Hasan, Taijul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Abu Jayed, Ebadot Hossain
Zimbabwe Team News & Playing 11
ZIM Team News
Zimbabwe have arrived in Dhaka with a 15-man squad for this one-off test match. The visitors will miss the services of their in-form skipper Sean Williams who has opted out of this game to be with his family for the birth of his child. Craig Ervine will be in charge of the team in the absence of Williams. Zimbabwe will also have to make do without two of their veteran seamers in Tendai Chatara and Kyle Jarvis who are yet to recover from their respective injuries. The experienced Christopher Mpofu has been added to the squad to compensate for this loss of firepower in the pace department.
ZIM Key Players
Brendan Taylor: He is a key figure at the top of the Zimbabwean batting line-up. Taylor struck half-centuries in both the innings of the second test against Sri Lanka and he even has a couple of test hundreds at the Shere Bangla.
Craig Ervine: The captain scored an impressive 85 in the first test against Sri Lanka and he will look to lead from the front again. The left-handed batsman has hit two centuries and four fifties for his country in the longest format.
Sikandar Raza: His ability to make healthy contributions with both bat and ball makes him a valuable player for Zimbabwe. He is coming off a very good home series against Sri Lanka where he scored 164 runs and picked 11 wickets in the two matches.
ZIM Recent Form
Zimbabwe have always struggled to win matches in this format and they have not won a test series since 2012. They have lost 13 and managed to win just once in their last 16 matches. Zimbabwe's latest test assignment came last month at home - a two-match series against Sri Lanka which they lost 0-1. After facing a heavy ten-wicket loss in the first game, they showed better composure and resilience with the bat in the second test to force a draw.
Zimbabwe Predicted Playing 11
Prince Masvaure, Kevin Kasuza, Craig Ervine (c), Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza, Regis Chakabva (wk), Tinotenda Mutombodzi, Timycen Maruma/Chris Mpofu, Donald Tiripano, Carl Mumba, Victor Nyauchi

🏆 Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe Prediction
The Shere Bangla has produced only one draw in the nine test matches it has hosted since 2014. And with the weather expected to remain good for the majority of the game, placing a bet on this match to end in a draw seems a risky option.
Zimbabwe are coming off a home series loss against Sri Lanka but having put up a good fight especially in the last match would have surely raised their confidence levels. They, however, will have to be on top of their game each day in order to put pressure on the home team. Bangladesh have the advantage of playing in their own backyard and they have won four of their last five tests at this ground. The Mominul Haque-led side look superior in all departments of the game and we expect them to bag a comfortable win in Dhaka.
