Venue | Edgbaston, Birmingham |
Yorkshire made it to the playoffs a fairly inconsistent league stage. They played 14 games and won just seven of them, while losing 6. They faced Surrey in the quarter-finals and defeated them by 1 run to reach the semi-final. They need to improve on their performance if they are to go on and win the title.
Meanwhile, Lancashire had a decent tournament and won 8 of the 14 games in the league stage while losing just 4. They defeated Essex in the quarter-final by 7 wickets to march into the semi-final. The coming game should be a cracking affair between two class outfits if they play to their potential.
The wicket in Birmingham is very good to bat. Yes, England were bowled out for 108 against India at the same venue but still, if batters apply themselves and negate the new ball threat, plenty of runs are there to be taken.
It will be a clear day with a few clouds here and there. The temperature will hover between 15 to 26 degrees which is pleasant for the players.
