Venue | Trent Bridge, Nottingham |
Trent Rockets have been brilliant so far in the tournament. They have played five matches and won four of them. Their only loss came against Birmingham Phoenix. Apart from that, they have been superb. In the last game, they defeated Oval Invincibles by 25 runs. A brilliant 59 by Alex Hales propelled the team to 181-4 before the bowlers restricted Oval to 156-5.
Meanwhile, London Spirit are placed at the top of the table with four wins in four games. The wins have been a result of collective performance by the batters and bowlers.
The wicket in Nottingham has been a good one to bat. Four of the five matches played here in the tournament have been won by the chasing team which shows that the wicket does not change much as the match progresses.
The weather looks good but rain cannot be counted out as there are 20 per cent chance of rain on the match day. The temperature will range between 22 and 14 degrees and the humidity will be 59 per cent.

Both teams are likely to play the same team after winning the last game. Rashid Khan may be available for Trent Rockets but we are not sure as we have not received any update. He may come and play a couple of games before leaving for Asia Cup but that’s unlikely.

The destructive Englishman returned to form with a blazing 59 off 29 in the last game. Alex is a big impact player, someone who can change the complexion of the game in a few balls. Having him in the team is a wise move.
Dawid Malan has been in top form in the tournament and has played a couple of match-winning knocks. He even looked good in the last game and scored 38. Given his consistency, he deserves a place in the team as well.
Glenn Maxwell continued his good run in the tournament and played a wonderful knock of 43 off 25 balls. He has played quite a few impactful innings in the tournament so far and is a very good pick for the skipper of the team. He also picked a wicket in the match.
Eoin Morgan is another player we need to have in the team. He is a match winner on his day and has done reasonably well in the tournament.
Tabraiz Shamsi had a good game in the last outing and picked up two wickets for 21 runs in 20 balls. Shamsi, being a chainmen bowler, is not easy to hit which makes him a likely contender to pick quite a few wickets.
