Vice Captain - Wanindu Hasaranga or Glenn Maxwell can be a good choice for vice-captain. Maxwell can be destructive with the bat and can bowl a magical spell with the ball. Hasaranga is a top bowler and can score runs if required.

- Kusal Mendis – While he hasn’t been in the best of form, he is one of the better batters from Sri Lanka and is expected to do well.
- Steve Smith - Sri Lanka will use a lot of spinners in the game and Smith is one of the best against the spinners. He can play the anchor role and play a big knock.

- Mitchell Starc - Starc will return to action after a decent break and will be keen to make an immediate impact. We can see Starc nailing those toe crushers in the first T20I.
- Dushmantha Chameera - Chameera showed his class while playing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022. He was one of the top pacers of the tournament and bowled well with the new ball and at death.
Wicketkeeper
- Bhanuka Rajapaksa is a good player to have in the team. Rajapaksa played some excellent cameos for Punjab Kings in IPL. He played some crisp shots and looked a batter who can serve SL in the long run.
