Pakistan vs Bangladesh, 6th T20I – New Zealand Tri-Series

Date | 13th October 2022 |
Time | 7:30 AM IST, 2:00 PM GMT, 3:00 PM LOCAL |
Venue | Hagley Oval, Christchurch |
Pakistan and Bangladesh will face off in the final league game of the tri-series. Bangladesh have been below par in the series and have lost all three games, two against New Zealand and one against Pakistan. They came into the series after some fine performances in limited overs series but the ordinary show is a big blow to them ahead of the World Cup. They would look to win the final game and get into the mega event with some momentum.
Meanwhile, Pakistan beat Bangladesh and New Zealand in their first two games but were thrashed by New Zealand in the previous game. Pakistan's inconsistency is their biggest concern ahead of the World Cup. Given that they have already qualified, they are likely to rest some of their players from the coming game
It has been a good surface to bat so far. We have seen some good scores as well. The only time the bowlers have an upper hand is with the new ball but once the ball is a couple of overs old, it becomes brilliant to bat.
It will be a cloudy day in Christchurch with the temperature dipping to as low as 7 degrees. The chances of rain though are low at 20 per cent.
Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (c), Shan Masood, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr/Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani/Haris Rauf
Najmul Hossain Shanto, Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das, Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan (wk), Mohammad Saifuddin, Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain
Since it’s a dead rubber, Pakistan can rest a few of their bowlers. Bangladesh, on the other hand, should field the same team.
Pakistan have a thumping record against Bangladesh in T20Is
Matches Played | Pakistan | Bangladesh | NR

Overall | 16 | 14 | 2 | 0 |
Wicketkeeper | Mohammad Rizwan, Litton Das |

Batters | Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Afif Hossain |
All-rounders | Shakib Al Hasan (C), Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz (VC) |
Bowlers | Mohammad Saifuddin, Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz |
Babar Azam has blown hot and cold in recent times and he would be keen to make every opportunity count and get his mojo back before the T20 World Cup. Babar is Pakistan's highest run-getter in the series with 122 runs in 3 games.
Mohammad Rizwan has been the Mr. Consistent for Pakistan and would be eyeing another good performance heading into the World Cup. When the two teams last met, Rizwan scored a match-winning 78.
Shakib Al Hasan played a brilliant hand of 70 against New Zealand in the previous game and kept Bangladesh in the hunt. The 209-run target though was a bit too much to achieve as Bangladesh lost by 48 runs. But Shakib proved that he is still one of the best in business.
Mohammad Nawaz can be a good pick owing to his all-round abilities. He is a handy batter in the middle order his left arm spin is not easy to face given his impeccable control over his line and lengths.
Naseem Shah is back in the Pakistan team and we are expecting him to deliver some extraordinary performances in the build-up to the T20 World Cup.
